DeepOcean, a leading ocean services provider, has recently extended its charter agreements with Østensjø Rederi for three vessels. This strategic move enhances DeepOcean’s subsea services, reinforcing its position in the maritime industry.

Extended Charter Agreements

DeepOcean and Østensjø Rederi have agreed to extend the existing contracts for Edda Freya and Edda Flora through 2026, and Edda Fauna through 2027, with additional options available for all three vessels. Østensjø Rederi has been a long-standing partner of DeepOcean, with all three vessels under contract since their delivery.

Vessel Capabilities

  • Edda Freya: Designed in collaboration with DeepOcean, this hybrid-powered construction vessel is suited for global operations, focusing on offshore construction and complex maintenance and repair tasks. It is also highly capable of cable laying for offshore renewable projects.
  • Edda Flora: Known as DeepOcean’s flagship subsea survey vessel, it is suited for global operations.
  • Edda Fauna: A trusted IMR vessel for harsh environments in the North Sea.

Enhanced Subsea Services

This extension allows DeepOcean to execute more comprehensive work scopes using high-spec vessels equipped with vertical lay systems (VLS). The company’s subsea services range from survey to construction to recycling, with a market-leading position in inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR).

Conclusion

DeepOcean’s extended charter agreements with Østensjø Rederi strengthen its fleet and capabilities, ensuring continued excellence in subsea services for both offshore oil and gas and offshore renewables.
